To keep our white Calls as clean as possible for showing this winter, we have kept them on the lawn, moving their pen regularly. This was fine until lambing time - when our lawn is requisitioned for sheep.at this point in time we had to move them to new quarters. This upset the ducks -they had just layed their first six eggs. They then stopped laying and only started to lay again in late August. We allowed them to sit and duly hatched twelve ducklings. No doubt they are going to be in the greenhouse rather longer than the spring hatches, it is somewhat colder now! But at least we have some white Call offspring.
